The Fourth of July holiday weekend is here – and it definitely will feel like it.

Heat and humidity will make a comeback over the next several days due to a combination of a cluster of thunderstorms storms and a massive high pressure system pushing into Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Today’s high temperature could soar to 90 degrees under mostly sunny skies. It will be 83 by noon. Already this morning, it’s 69 degrees at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

A smog alert has been issued today warning the elderly, children and those with breathing issues to limit their time outdoors.

Tonight’s low will only slip into the upper 60s. There’s a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms early Saturday.

The mercury will soar into the low-90s Saturday and Sunday mostly sunny conditions. Each day holds a 20 percent chance for rain.

Conditions will cool a bit Monday for the Fourth of July with a high of 86. It will be partly sunny.
