Dona Booe, of Meriden, has been named the new chief executive officer of the Kansas Children’s Service League, a private, not-for-profit agency with a mission of protecting and promoting the well being of children. Booe for the past five years was the KCSL’s vice president of programs services, a position in which she managed daily operations and had financial oversight of programs serving some 40,000 children and their families across Kansas. The focus of her work was the prevention of child abuse through programs promoting fatherhood initiatives, stable marriage programs and truancy prevention. She later was the SRS Northeast Regional Director, during which she managed a 24-county region with 560 full-time employees serving 175,000 clients. Booe, a native of Humboldt, replaces Janet Schalansky, who served as the agency’s CEO since 2007.
